12 Feb America’s 250th Birthday: Ponder the Lessons of Epstein and Islam
The breadth and depth of moral depravity evident in ‘the Epstein files’ leaves Main Street Americans aghast at what most if not all of their ‘ruling class’ has become. The ruling class individuals appearing in those files act and think (if emails are any indication) in ways that seem utterly untethered to any aspirational truth of living with a purpose other than the relentless pursuit of extreme sensual/sexual gratification…with no behavior off-limits in that pursuit. As sick as sick can be. Their model for living is spiritually vacuous and empty, and leads ultimately to a state of human existence that has no meaning, no purpose and no hope.

Much of today’s commentary on Epstein focuses on his Jewish identity, and then unjustly extrapolates and attributes his moral bankruptcy to Judaism. And not far from the thread of this commentary is the illogical leap to assume Islam, with its doctrinal hatred of and murderous intent toward all things Jewish, must somehow be virtuous by comparison.
Yet as John Quincy Adams (the sixth US President) noted nearly 200 years ago in his “Essay on Turks”:
Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he [Mohammed] humbled it to the dust, by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE [capital letters in original].
Adams went on to observe that Mohammed’s doctrines ‘prolong the degeneracy of man’.

So Epstein’s worldview and Islam’s ironically share a profound flaw: that man (and woman) made, in the Bible’s words, in the image and likeness of God, is actually nothing more than an animal created and pre-programmed to live in eternal pursuit of the satisfaction of sensuality/sexual lust.

What does any of this have to do with the restoration of America, and of its aspiration for another 250 years of greatness?
America’s Declaration of Independence is eternally inhospitable to the idea of men and women as conscience-less animals driven and consumed by fleshly desires. The Declaration affirms ‘self-evident truths’ about man and woman as ‘created equal’ by a loving Creator, and given by that Creator unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Thomas Jefferson, principal author of the Declaration, did not believe happiness was all about the pursuit of whatever makes one feel good; he wrote to his oldest daughter, Martha: “Health, learning, and virtue will ensure your happiness; they will give you a quiet conscience, private esteem, and public honor.”
The restoration of America requires first an abandonment of the very idea of a ruling class in favor of self-government by the consent of the governed—a/k/a, by the consent of the Constitution’s ‘we the people’.
It requires ‘we the people’ to be ‘a moral and religious people’ who do not need pages of written statutes to tell us how to behave…because we already know how to behave through the teachings of the Bible.
It requires a relearning of the meaning of the happiness to be sought in a life of individual freedom and responsibility under God—not an unrestrained licentiousness in defiance of God.

Whether or not identified as part of a “Fourth Turning”, American society’s processing of the content of the Epstein files and American society’s resistance to the Islamification of America are producing massive moral convulsions and upheaval in 2026. The American people are literally sick of both. The good news is that what is inevitably left standing after all moral convulsions and upheaval is: truth.
George Washington famously wrote of America: “Our cause is noble. It is the cause of Mankind!” That cause is multi-faceted, but at its core is an affirmation that men and women are NOT conscience-less animals rutting around with nothing but sensual impulses and sexual experimentation agendas. The Declaration implies that men and women are the noble creation of a loving God, and that good will follow from the right understanding and exercise of unalienable rights endowed to them by that God.
Jeffrey Epstein didn’t get this fundamental concept; Mohammed couldn’t possibly fathom it. Christ Jesus did. He said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63
Living in a state of moral filth and degradation is not the natural or inevitable condition of humanity.
The best is yet to come for America, as today’s moral upheaval eventually recedes and Americans trust and turn back to their owner’s manual for planning America’s next 250 years: the Bible-inspired Declaration of Independence.
