Fifteen ballots to elect McCarthy in exchange for ‘concessions’ is not a failure, embarrassment, or otherwise deserving of criticism or mockery. It also did NOT harm the GOP brand. “Concessions” agreed to by McCarthy should never have been necessary to win.
