More Straight Talk/Common Sense from Tucker

From Tucker Carlson’s commentary…this is how leaders who have spent real time with real Americans outside the Beltway are able to ‘read the tea leaves’:

Democrats are having buyer’s remorse.

After their undemocratic strategy of thrusting Kamala Harris to the top of their ticket without their voters’ consent backfired, much of the party’s leadership is wishing someone other than the vice president had run against Donald Trump.

During a recent interview, Nancy Pelosi said “Had the president [dropped] out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race,” insinuating that one of those hypothetical alternatives could have earned more support than Harris and won the White House last Tuesday.

Pelosi is wrong. When voters handed Trump the biggest Republican electoral victory since 1988, they didn’t do so as a specific repudiation of Harris, Biden, or any one individual Washington-backed politician. They did it to reject the Democrat Party as a whole and the establishment agenda it exists to protect.

If Harris hadn’t been the candidate, whoever filled her role still would have defended the dozens of damaging initiatives the electorate rebuffed last week.

Open borders.

Endless wars.

Globalist economics.

Inflation-driving spending.

Yes, Harris ran on each of those ideas. But any Democrat would have. Unlike Donald Trump’s agenda, which is legitimately unique to him, those programs don’t belong to any one figure. They belong to the system. That’s why every 21st-century administration besides Trump’s promoted all four. And had the 47th president been a Democrat, theirs would have too.

American voters would not have let that happen, regardless of whether Kamala Harris occupied the top of the Democrat ticket. They were always going to go with Trump. He was the only one unbeholden to permanent Washington. That’s why he’s loved.
