07 Aug On America First, the Iran War, and Turning Back the Islamization of Texas…Consequential Times Ahead

There are claimants to the America First movement who assert that this label can only mean opposition to all ‘foreign wars’. The rationale for this position—simply stated—is that there is plenty for the federal government to attend to at home, and there are few if any foreign countries where America gains anything by becoming involved, especially if ‘involved’ means mortal risk to American ‘boots on the ground’.
This rationale is hardly new; its embrace by some portion of Americans is at least as old as the nation itself.
The opposite of this rationale is one that takes a very expansive view of American interests abroad, and often asserts as a moral imperative that America MUST get involved to make the world a better place, or at least ‘safe for democracy’ or ‘safer for America’. (The late Senator Lindsey Graham may have been the strongest advocate for this expansive view.)
Many staunch critics of the Iran War believe in the first rationale; they believe this is Israel’s war; that there are no critical American interests involved in the Israel/Iran conflict; that the Middle East is full of ‘crazies’ and America ought to stay out of it and just let them fight it out among themselves.
Opponents of the Iran War who think there are no critical American interests involved in the Israel/Iran conflict, or no threat to America posed by Iran’s mullahs, fail to grasp the tenacity, scope, and ferocity of the Islamic conquest now underway in the world, and in America.
When understood at the deepest level, the Iran/Israel conflict threatens America as founded as seriously as any conflict has ever threatened America. Because…though many Americans are deeply afraid of or instinctively cringe at acknowledging this fact, the core of the conflict is Islam v. Western Civilization or, to be even more precise, it is Islam v. Christianity.
The irreconcilable conflict between Islam and Christianity has existed for as long as Islam (14+ centuries). But for virtually all of America’s first 250 years, there has been no pressing need to face up to the real nature of the conflict[1].
The ongoing Islamization of Texas in 2026 is now presenting for all Americans the explicit illustration of this pressing need and how to meet it. Because even though ‘Islamization’ is aggressively on the move in Michigan (Dearborn), Minnesota (Minneapolis) and other areas of the northeast, in none of those areas is there intelligent, informed, Christian-driven, traditional and adamant American resistance to this unmistakable imposition on American freedom.
But there is such resistance in Texas. Which is precisely why today’s Islamic conquerors in America, the civilization jihadists2, are targeting to take Texas down, and accelerating their efforts to do so. Texas represents core freedom-loving, Bible-believing, Judeo-Christian American culture, which is precisely what the jihadists of today are determined to destroy.
Grasping that reality, recognizing that jihad is meant to destroy Judeo-Christian culture, Christianity, and freedom, is vital to understanding what it will take to defeat Islamic conquerors. The sooner all Americans learn this, the better will be America’s chances to preserve American freedom for the next 250 years.
America First requires protecting America. President Trump possesses an intuitive and robust determination to protect the American people. He recognized in 2017, during his first term as president, the need to protect America from Islamic jihadists when, following numerous deadly jihadist attacks in America and western Europe, he issued executive orders designed to restrict travel to the United States from countries then experiencing or engaged in Islamic jihad. Closely scrutinizing whether those seeking to enter America mean to harm Americans was not just common sense, it is part of the overarching responsibility of America’s government.
In this term, President Trump has the overwhelming responsibility to navigate the treacherous waters of a relentlessly belligerent Iran—whose LEADERS lead the chant “death to America,” pursue building nuclear weapons, and fund vicious deadly Islamic terror around the world—while at the same time maintaining alliances with the only western-civilization-based country in the Middle East, Israel, while striving to keep stable relationships with Muslim-majority ally countries like Qatar.
The Iran War is one battlefront in the international war too many want to ignore, between virulent Islam and rational Judeo-Christian western civilization. Iran represents the most overtly aggressive Islamic jihad-funding, murderous sharia-enforcing regime in the world today.
There are lessons for America and particularly for Texas to learn from President Trump’s efforts to deal rationally with Iran’s mullahs.
The fate of the now infamous ‘MOU’—a generous set of terms by which the mullahs seemed to be able to hold onto power if they would simply conform their behavior to something akin to how ‘normal’ people behave, is a primer for those seeking to deal with Islamic aggression in America.
The MOU was arguably and admirably very similar in motivation to the post-World War II Marshall Plan by which the defeated Germans acted for the most part like ‘normal’ people in accepting the plan, albeit grudgingly.
But the Iranian leaders do not behave like normal people; they behave like the apocalyptic 12th-Mahdi Islamists that they are. They cannot be trusted to honestly surrender; they believe all-out global nuclear war would be a good thing to hasten the arrival of the global Islamic caliphate. So the MOU appears to have been just a cessation-of-US bombing tactic for them; an exercise in taqiyya (Islamic-authorized lying if necessary to advance against enemies). How to proceed as each step in this conflict unfolds will be decided based on as yet unknown facts, but the core realization that Iranian leaders are and will always be fundamentally unworthy of trust must never be ignored.
In the same way the Islamic jihadists who rule Iran cannot be trusted to make or keep a rational and even generous deal, Americans in general and Texans in particular cannot ‘get a deal done’ with Islamic conquerors engaged in civilization jihad in Texas. America and freedom cannot peacefully coexist with jihadists for whom the only acceptable outcome is Islamic domination. Islam won’t permit peaceful coexistence, as imams readily and frequently make crystal clear.
Ignoring this reality is already not politically viable in Texas (too many engaged Texans are way up the learning curve), and increasingly not viable nationally. Candidates in the 2026 mid-terms should prove by speeches, written opinions and policy advocacy that they ‘get it’.
So back to America First and the opposition to ‘foreign wars’.
The Iran War is not entirely a foreign war. And it is not exclusively “Israel’s war,” because the Iranian jihadists present an unending threat to Jews and Christians, worldwide. It is the kinetic version of the unacknowledged civilization jihad that is ongoing in the UK and Europe. The old adage ‘we fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them here’ is sadly already inapt; Islamists are here and are moving full speed ahead with their mission: in at least one imam’s express words, “The greatest mission of Muslims in America is to destroy Christianity.”
Many in the professional political class are without the slightest clue of how to address this Islamic jihadist challenge, which causes them to default to ignoring it, blather on about ‘diversity is our strength,’ and move on to some other issue. A similar default attitude in the UK has accelerated its downfall, which is now nearly irreversible.
Texans in particular and Americans in general are not going to accept an ignoring, whistling-past-the-graveyard attitude about this existential threat to America as founded. There is only one answer to today’s Islamic conquest mindset, and that is utter defeat. Complete rejection of the demands of the civilization jihadists.
Honoring America’s western civilization roots, our Judeo-Christian culture, and the promise of our founding freedoms, demands that we make no compromise or concessions to the Islamic conquest now underway here. There is no acceptable halfway compromise with those who would destroy our culture and country.
