Show Highlights – Week of July 1, 2019

Antifa (the fascist group that attacks anyone who dares disagree with them on any issue) violently attacked a journalist in a Portland protest, and succeeded in part because the police did nothing to help the victim. Discussion here. Antifa members wear masks to hide their identity, though there is hope (listen here) that the authorities can end this  cowardly practice.

Lathan Watts of First Liberty joined me to talk about the status of religious liberty in America in light of recent SCOTUS decisions.

Rep. Ilhan Omar launched a vitriolic verbal attack on black Christian pastor Latasha Fields who testified in Congress about choosing life when facing an unplanned pregnancy, and about valuing the ethic of hard work and self-reliance over perpetual reliance on government assistance.  The rage Omar hurled at this pastor, mocking life, love, prayer, and hard work, is a window on her view of America. Omar’s words and my thoughts.

Austin Texas recently authorized Sidewalk Sleepers, meaning homeless people sleeping anywhere they want. So sidewalks, alleys, etc., are permissible campsites, though the City Council conveniently exempted itself, barring sleepers on the grounds of City Hall or in public parks. Homeless advocates won the day on this policy, while the hard-working, tax-paying citizens are suffering the real-life consequences. Austin = San Francisco? Discussion here.

A Democrat member of Congress proposed prosecuting people who criticize members of Congress on social media. Seriously. Listen to this.
