Personally … (my weekly note to you):

My Very Fine Friends,

Happy Independence Day 2022!

July 4th, Independence Day,  is one of my favorite holidays. It celebrates the signing of The Declaration of Independence,  among the most extraordinary documents in all of world history.

It is a holiday millions if not billions around the world would love to be able to celebrate — a holiday confirming that they live in a country that has a founding, national, and irrevocable commitment to the very noble idea that individuals have an inherent, God-given right to freedom, and to  life, liberty and to pursuing their version of happiness.  No country except America defined its very existence as the place where those rights were and are the identifying cornerstone of the nation, and the purpose for its creation.

Amidst the BBQs and parades and fireworks and fun and family and friends, I invite you to do two things.

First, listen to a short and powerful video by a 100 year old veteran whose tears for America are heartfelt and contagious. He speaks truth about America, and correctly perceives that we are losing America and all that our brave warriors fought for over the decades and centuries.

Second, read one of the most poignant summaries I have found of the great sacrifices made in 1776 by the Signers of the Declaration of Independence.  When they added their names to the document, the Signers pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor.  Many suffered greatly, most lost everything, and some died in the effort, but none withdrew their commitment or turned their back on America. Remembering their sacrifices may just help you and others to summon the bravery and fortitude we will all need to continue to stand up and speak up for America, in the face of scorn, mockery, and worse.

Allegiance to those founding ideas, and commitment to honoring our Creator God as the source of these rights and ideas, are the cause and driving force of America’s unique greatness since 1776.

Today, the very ideas of America and of the Declaration of Independence are directly under attack, from within.

America needs every freedom-loving patriot in the fight to preserve and rescue and defend the ideas enshrined in the Declaration of Independence.

      • When you refuse to let schools teach the deception and truth-contortion set out in the anti-American 1619 Project, or in the BLM agenda curricula, or in the CRT mission, you are standing up for America.
      • When you boycott woke corporations who support corruption of the family and of children, you are defending America.
      • When you call out and continue to call out massive outcome-changing election fraud, and demand accountability and transparency, you are standing up for America.
      • When you oppose vaccine mandates, or challenge the growing censorship of speech, the criminalization of opposition to the ruling party, and expose and denounce the abandonment of the southern border, you are standing up for America.

Founding father John Adams wrote a letter to his wife right after the signing, setting out his vision of how he hoped America would celebrate the Declaration of Independence:

“I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

So for today, celebrate freedom, while we still (mostly) have it.  Then recommit to stand up for America and our freedom.
America needs us today to take our turn to defend the Republic.

Speak Truth About America.
Facts Matter.  Truth Matters.  America Matters.
I’ll talk to you next week. I can’t wait!

Interviews this week:

Gender transitioning even for young children, more accurately known as genital mutilation of children, has become the trendy thing to believe in, at least in some circles in America.

Jeffrey Younger is the Texas dad who embarked on a mission to save his son from the efforts of the child’s mom to force gender transitioning on this young boy. To turn him into a girl. This tragic story involves the failure of the Texas legislature, the courts, and the medical community to protect this child, who has told his dad he is a boy and wants to remain a boy.

Texas State Senator Bob Hall was and is a leader in the as-yet unsuccessful effort to ban gender transitioning for minors in Texas. Senator Hall is also a leader in the legislature on numerous of the most serious issues facing Texas, which other elected officials ignore. We barely scratched the surface in this interview of all that he is doing.

Thank goodness for public servants like him.
