Dr. Richard Bartlett Shares Covid Information (Update with PDF Links)

My July 2nd interview with Dr. Richard Bartlett of Midland, Texas (you can watch it here) has drawn interest from around the country.

There is obviously great interest in effective treatments for those suffering with Covid-19, and in Dr. Bartlett’s explanation of his approach. I have not been able to keep up with viewers’ requests for a copy of the medical paper he referenced in the interview.

So with his permission, I am sharing in this post two items: (1) Dr. Bartlett’s letter to Texas State Senator Bob Hall explaining in more layman-like language what the treatment is all about; and (2) Dr. Bartlett’s primary paper describing the covid treatment regimen he has been prescribing.

I met Dr. Bartlett by happenstance for the first time on June 30th; he described what he had been prescribing for his patients suffering with covid and the very positive results he has seen. I asked if he would be willing to be interviewed for my show, and he agreed.

I found Dr. Bartlett to be very personable and earnest and credible. I enjoyed interviewing him.

But I am not a physician, and my interview of him should not be taken as me or “America Can We Talk?” offering any medical advice or opinions or any manner of professional endorsement of Dr. Bartlett’s paper. Viewers are advised to consult with their own doctors regarding the utility or potential applicability of Dr. Bartlett’s paper to their own circumstances. Viewers can also reach out to Dr. Bartlett directly using the contact information contained in his paper.

My concern is that this study only references 2 patients in the study. Was it done on only 2 patients? If there have been more, then why is that not stated? The idea sounds good but from the interview Dr. Bartlett says it has worked for lots of his patients but he did not have any idea how many he has treated. I am not a doctor or a researcher but I would like to see more data.

I hear what your saying. I think its not resting on just 2 patients that was mentioned… That might be because only 2 agreed to be mentioned…or for another reason that I cant think of since Im not in that space… I think other body of evidence is that. Its also working in the countries that have very low numbers when compared to other high populations according to the doctors. It would make sense for experts to be looking into what those counties are doing and using, that is lending to their success. Its also a totally different strategy than what is being used here and in many other places around the world. It does make sense since Covid kills because of the level of inflammation that takes place in the lungs primarily and provides as the kindling and starting point. This is what asthma is as well, inflammation in same area and the drug if given to put out the fire or inflammation.. So if the inflammation is kept from growing than the body can better deal with the virus. At least this is my line of thinking as to why this makes sense to me and something I was thinking about during this pandemic.

It really interesting and I do agree that steroid treatment and in this case breathing treatment has been a miracle drug also with use of antibiotics and zinc. But I’m not impressed that he disregarded the fact that in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, they all used masks when they are around people, so they prevented spread and they tests almost everyone. And all other countries that flattened the curve, Europe, S. Korea, New Zealand( now zero case) Canada. He should mention and promote that as a strong preventive factor. That’s sad to note.

You are correct that Canada did flatten the curve. The approach here is to test and quarantine, if positive. No treatment was used until later in the disease. Even clinical trials were largely targeted at later stages of covid-19. There was a widespread lockdown. Two of the ten provinces had most of the cases, and within those Montreal and Toronto had most of the cases. Masks are now in vogue, as elsewhere. The probability of dying, given a positive virus diagnosis, is much higher in Canada than anywhere in the US. The point of flattening the curve was, as elsewhere, to not overwhelm the hospital system. Since treatment, other than oxygen and ventilators, was not provided, one has to wonder what good that served.

It’s not antibiotics and zinc, but magnesium and zinc. Antibiotics imply a bacterial infection., which would thrive if supplemented with zinc. Zinc is sequestered by our nutritional immunity to prevent the exponential growth of the bacteria or many other pathogens it would otherwise enable. Zinc, like iodine, is extremely important for our immune system, albeit it needs to be balanced with copper, it provides a U-response, it needs magnesium to get into the cells and oral absorption is poor in the elderly. If the minerals are administered properly, the results are nothing short of amazing. Nevertheless, a better approach would be to address your deficiencies now and avoid the whole issue of getting sick!

Most remarkable to me is Dr. Bartlett’s comments concerning the procrastination here in the U.S. to treat people who have been diagnosed. I hadn’t considered that the procedure for this disease is contrary to the usual course of action in the United States where we confront the illness head on and do not wait for symptoms to exaggerate! Thank you for this information. So far my husband and I remain Covid19 free but I now feel equipped to stand up and face it with a plan of action should either of us be diagnosed!

Dr. Bartlett is very clear and concise with all of this data and findings. This is the type of medical treatment and documentation America needs and wants. In addition, America has the best healthcare treatment in the world because of physicians like Dr. Bartlett. We should be listening to and following the advice of frontline doctors like Dr. Bartlett. As American citizens, we do not rely on lab opportunists, like Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx to decide what medical treatment is best for We The People! We rely on experienced medical physicians who work with patients on a daily basis and know first hand about symptoms, changing dynamics and the best treatments.
Dr.. Bartlett is what we need!

[…] Dr. Richard Bartlett is a practicing General Practice doctor in TX,  CBS affiliate medical expert and witter. He was interviewed by Debbie Georgatos of America, Can We Talk? on July 3, 2020 and claimed that he has used inhaled Budesonide to cure patients with critical medical conditions and also urged patients to test and seek treatment as early as possible. Based on Dr. Bartlett, Budesonide is a “super cheap and readily available” generic medicine for preventing asthma, and has been in the market for over 20 years. He told at the show how he was inspired by Taiwan and other countries to find this therapy and criticized America for making medical decisions based on political motivation. This interview video has generated more than two million views in less than 10 days, and has gained numerous positive and constructive comments under the YouTube video and the post at https://acwtsite.wpengine.com. As a physician who just had a family member direct me to this talk, I strongly encourage all of you to bring this paper to your physician to discuss. I also encourage you to think how just two cases treated not just with budesonide, but also other medications does not give the medical community enough evidence that this will replace the need to use masks, social distancing when possible and good hand hygiene. Keep America Great, use critical thinking and take care of your family. God Bless

Dr. Bartlett states in the video that he has treated MANY patients with COVID in order to develop this regimen. The paper is a case study, he selected only 2 of the many patients he has treated to demonstrate that even those with substantial co-morbidities have benefitted and recovered. He also states that there are much larger studies under way.

He warns that the NIH study that is gearing up is likely to be a failure because they (intentionally?) are going to wait until patients demonstrate severe symptoms of COVID before starting the regimen. It is meant to be started early on before the disease progresses too far, so naturally the “scientific study” will demonstrate budesonide is ineffective. This will be similar to the “study” conducted by the NIH regarding the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine (without zinc) on patients who were near death in the VA hospital system. The NIH oversees the CDC, which has a vested interest in promoting vaccines as the one and only way to “salvation” from COVID.

In addition to budesonide, there is good indication that relatively inexpensive nebulized nano silver is safe and effective in combatting coronaviruses. I have used it in my CPAP with astonishing effect on other respiratory illnesses I have contracted. This study was done shortly after the SARS outbreak in 2003, and since COVID is a SARS-type virus, nano silver is likely to be effective against it as well. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/13590840310001594061

I posted it alot, but then thought, maybe i should research this a little before doing so. The Dr is a little misleading. For instance, when he talks about the 7 deaths in Taiwan, he doesnt mention they have only had 451 total cases as compared to the US which has had over 3 million. Death rate for those in the US as a percentage of infections is 3.7. Taiwan is 1.6 which is still lower than us. On the other hand, he also touted Japan but when looking at the numbers, Japan has only had 25446 total cases, 986 deaths and have a slightly higher mortality rate than the US at 3.9 (total deaths divided by total infected). Korea is also better than the US at only 2.1 but once again has a much lower rate of infection. The real question is why is it not spreading as rapidly in these three countries as it had in the United States. Someone on the Fox News the other day was making a statement that Genetics may play a key role in those that are dying. I would be interested in seeing the racial demographics of those dying in the United States. He also spun away from the question about how many people he has treated. I found that a little evasive and worrisome. I did find one article that suggested it may be as low as a dozen patients which if that is the case doesnt do much to bolster his claim. If we were talking about 3 or 4 hundred, then i would feel a little better. It does make me uncomfortable that he was unwilling to share the number which makes me believe that maybe it is a lower number such as a dozen or so he has treated. Midland TX has only had 1387 total cases so it may actually only be a dozen or two cases that he has treated.

Finally, a doctor who knows that he is not god!! I appreciate his testimony and the fact that he gives God credit for how he is treating his patients (very successfully I might add). I am so relieved that there is a common approach to battle this awful virus. To me, one of the scariest things was not knowing how it could be treated without going to the hospital and be treated by drastic measures! It saddens me that I know people who have died due to COVID, and could have survived had they known about this treatment when they were first diagnosed. It helps to know that someone has given me a “battle plan”. With this information, I can now discuss this with my doctor intelligently and treat my symptoms should I ever get tested positive.
Thank you so much for this interview and information.

an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure…that’s where the conversation needs to start. I run a laboratory, no we do not do PCR for covid 19, so I’m not experienced in that field, but we are familiar with the PCR process and methodology followed.

This may be great news for a treatment, but the countries that have taken control of the spread of the virus have done so with prevention first, treatment second. Physicians are always encouraging prevention first, help prevent lung cancer!, don’t smoke. help prevent heart attacks!, exercise, eat healthy and maintain your weight. I could go on, but this should make my point.

Give us encouragement with this potential treatment of early symptoms, but lets not forget to employ science as well in the prevention of contracting the virus. Its not fool proof, but neither is his treatment. as always with all treatments and preventions, I hope his treatment continues to be successful as we are still in the early stages of understanding the scope and treatment of this virus and we need all the help we can get.

Mine is not a political statement, just my opinion.

I was able to get a chest x-ray and my lungs are filled — the NP wanted me to go to the ER, but I was concerned about being put in the hospital on a respirator. After some pleading, she agreed to prescribe Budesonide, but she seemed clueless about it and looked up some information about it. She prescribed 1mg/2mL dosage twice daily, but since she was so clueless about the drug, I’m concerned that the dosage is enough. I’m 6’0″ tall and weigh 190. Does that dosage sound accurate — I was considering upping to three times a day.
