The
Canadian Truckers' Freedom Convoy speaks for millions around the world.
A protest was born when the Canadian government announced that by January 15th, 2022 all truckers who cross the U.S.- Canada border must get the Covid-19 vaccine or quarantine themselves upon arrival back in Canada. The protest now involves thousands of trucks and drivers, thousands more supporters lining the roads and the overpasses along the truckers’ route, and international attention from media and freedom-lovers. The convoy of trucks is estimated to be 45 miles long.
The truckers’ demands have evolved from merely protesting the "Vax or Quarantine” rule for truckers (whose jobs are the ultimate “can’t work from home” jobs), into a broader demand to restore freedom and end covid-related mandates. One trucker and trucking company owner
put it this way: "We want to be free, we want to have our choice again, and we want hope - and the government has taken that away.”
This is a modern day Boston Tea Party. A protest that is tangible, visible, and impactful. Truckers deliver things people need. They are the bread-and-butter of an economy. They are not political. They are not making money engaging in this protest, but are instead risking their livelihoods. All that they want is freedom. And everyone can see that.
The convoy started at Vancouver a week ago, and the destination is the Canadian capital of Ottawa, where they will be greeted by
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s hostile and dismissive view of the protesters as a “fringe minority.” The truckers intend to stay in Ottawa until the mandate is removed, and the leftist government appears to be signaling they will not listen to their hard-working citizens. The stage is set for a peaceful showdown.
Trudeau’s condescension is mirrored by left-wing media including
the Washington Post which ran comics and opinion pieces characterizing the truckers as engaged in fascism, and devoid of wit and truth, shameful and pathetic. Talk about leftists projecting on their opposition the qualities that actually describe them!!
This protest is entirely peaceful and powerful because it is peaceful. The
Canadian Truckers' Freedom Convoy speaks for millions, because there are millions in Canada, America and around the world who share the passion and demand for freedom but whose protests are unheard and earn little or no media coverage.
Peaceful protests against the growing covid-justified tyranny are needed everywhere, and they are happening all over America and the world. This is an issue of freedom of the individual versus the power of government to use brute-force against individual citizens.
Freedom must win. It is a fundamental building block of America, a yearning of the heart by millions, and a fundamental right of all people.
